"Your attention didn't collapse, your attention has been stolen from you by a big range of forces", says Johann Hari, best-selling author of "Stolen Focus: Why You Can't Pay Attention". These forces range from big tech to the food we eat which is ruining our focus, to the sleep we no longer get, the hours we overwork and exhaust ourselves", claims the speaker at GDI’s 72nd International Retail Summit, in this video of "ABC News Australia".

In the course of his research, Hari interviewed over 200 leading experts on attention and focus. The Result: There is scientific evidence for twelve factors that can make your attention better or worse. "A lot of factors that are making our attention worse have hugely been rising in recent years", says Hari.

What are these factors? What can we do about it? And how can we defend ourselves against those forces? Learn more about it in this video and at the 72nd International Retail Summit.
