Living stories instead of reading them

3D cinema is passe. Today, it’s all about immersive storytelling. To become part of a story yourself, to experience it physically, is no longer fiction. Carl Guyenette, one of the field’s most creative minds, explains in a video and on GDI Trend Day.

"Harry Potter", "Lord of the Rings", "Games of Thrones" or "Zelda" - regardless of the form, theses stories could only be experienced to a certain extent. But thanks to new technologies, this is changing: Immersive storytelling is improving and raising new possibilities. Worlds can increasingly be experienced holistically, with all the senses.

In London, for example, guest will be able to experience H.G. Wells' science fiction novel "War of the Worlds" with added components like heat and smell. One of the minds behind the project is Carl Guyenette. In this video, he explains the process.

Carl Guyenette is a speaker at the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute’s 15th European Trend Day on 13 March 2019, called "Beyond Words: How New Interfaces Reshape Communication".
