The more intelligent machines become, the more the question arises as to what actually distinguishes us from them. According to neuropsychologist Lutz Jäncke--it’s less and less. Feelings? Just phenomena of consciousness. The soul? A speculation. Memories? Constructs.
Michel Maréchal examines the way humans work. How selfishly do we behave in everyday life, how honest are we? In a recently published study, the behavioral economist came up with surprising results. Maréchal's report, conducted in 355 cities in over 40 countries, was discussed worldwide in prominent journals - from "Science" and "New York Times" to "Guardian" and "Figaro".
Jäncke and Maréchal look at the essence of humans from two completely different perspectives. They will showcase and discuss their results at the GDI - it will be the first time Michel Maréchal has presented this to the public. The researchers will address questions such as:
- How important will common sense be in the future?
- What cannot be assigned to machines?
- What is more reliable, algorithms or empathy?
- Is a man really a wolf to another man?
