AI assists us in everyday life, but it can improve human performance in collective challenges, such as coordination or cooperation, too. Nicholas Christakis, a Professor of Social and Natural Science at Yale University, is exploring how people react when AI agents or bots are embedded in groups. While the GDI's 'Smart and Human' study reveals many people are still relatively sceptical about AI, Christakis' experiments show that: "The humans tolerate and even like the bots, to the extent that they believe that the bots are actually trying to be helpful."
