In his book “The Creativity Code”, Marcus du Sautoy examines the importance of creativity and how artificial intelligence can enrich us. But can machine-learning algorithms be creative at all? According to du Sautoy, the definition of cognitive scientist Margaret Boden should be applied to creativity: creative actions must be novel, surprising and have value. "With machine learning and deep learning, the programming code can change and mutate without human intervention," says du Sautoy. By interacting with amounts of data, something completely new could emerge, corresponding to the definition of creativity.
But where are the limits of Artificial Intelligence? And can she even overcome them? Watch the interview now!
