Nico Luchsinger is the CEO of the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute. He is responsible for strategic leadership and setting the agenda at Switzerland’s oldest Think Tank.
CURRICULUM VITAE
Nico Luchsinger studied history, economics and political science in Zurich and Geneva. He regularly writes and holds talks on geopolitical and geoeconomic issues as well as on the strategic options available to small, open economies.
Nico Luchsinger previously worked at the Asia Society Switzerland, where he played a pivotal role in the organisation’s development from 2016 onwards – initially as Head of Programming, then as Co-Executive Director and, from 2021, as Executive Director. Over a decade or so, he turned the organisation into a leading platform that creates links between business, politics and society, and enhances Swiss expertise on Asia. Over this period, he emerged as a highly distinguished observer of global shifts – particularly in relation to geopolitical and geoeconomic issues.
As Executive-in-Residence at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), Nico Luchsinger hosted the "ReCentered" podcast, which explores global shifts in-depth from non-Western perspectives – from the standpoint of Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia.
Nico Luchsinger began his career in journalism at Neue Zürcher Zeitung. He then co-founded the global entrepreneurial community Sandbox and headed up business development at the Swiss start-up Mila.
