Gian-Luca Savino holds a PhD in computer science with a particular focus on the intersection of digital innovation and ecological transformation.​

In his research, he explores the contribution of technological developments (e.g., artificial intelligence) to addressing societal and environmental challenges. He also investigates the societal impacts of increasing technologization and the associated consequences for the environment and sustainability. During his work with the human–machine interaction research groups at the University of St. Gallen and the University of Bremen, he led numerous practical and consulting projects in the field of digitalization and published several scientific papers in renowned journals and at international conferences. His in-depth expertise in data science, combined with his applied skills in software development and user experience, distinguish him as a researcher with a strong technical background who bridges the gap between science and practice with his knowledge and experience.
