The GDI is fully committed to sustainability
You can hold events at the GDI with a clear conscience. Our facilities and cuisine have been designed with sustainability in mind. For example, a heat pump is used for the heating and air-conditioning of our conference rooms. We generally make our own decorations using flowers from our garden or dried ones. All other floral decorations come from a local florist and we select our flowers on a seasonal basis. To avoid making new acquisitions, we hire the pictures, sculptures and paintings used to decorate the GDI from the Migros Museum.
We place great emphasis on sustainability when preparing our food. Our kitchen team only uses seasonal products, buys produce from local farmers and uses herbs grown in the GDI garden. Our chefs provide lots of vegetarian/vegan options to reduce meat and fish consumption and we use all parts of meat products. To avoid waste, our kitchen team only prepares dishes ordered in advance. Our selection of water and wine mainly consists of local products too.
